A couple of weeks ago, I was relaxed, my next show isn’t until March. Then reality set in this week. Did you know that March 4th is just 6 weeks away? Yikes, I’ve got to get moving.
- Yesterday, I ordered new lighting to accentuate the larger Impasto paintings. They come alive with detail when the light reflects off the thick palette knife work.
- Next is deciding on which backdrops I want for my walls. Each year, I upgrade my booth to accentuate the art display. The changes that I made last year just gave it a warm feel and covered all of the chrome tubing. This year the stark white walls will be draped in a neutral medium tone for elegance. Sometimes, even an artist has a hard time picking out just the right color.
- And lastly, what about those new paintings that are still in my head? I am working in watercolor which means that there will either be a finishing process of varnishing the surface or costume framing to do. In either case, I have to complete the artwork at least 2 weeks before the show to accomodate the finishing needs.
Hey, I better get to the studio. Hope to see you in March, make sure that you save the date too!
